Breeze Airways Expands Its Network With Three New Routes

Breeze Airways is expanding its route map by including three new routes and one additional state on its winter flight schedule.

Along Mississippi’s Gulf coast, the airline is establishing a new hub at Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport (GPT), from which it will begin operating flights in January.

Breeze, the latest venture from David Neeleman, a serial entrepreneur in the airline industry, has experienced rapid expansion since its launch in May 2021 and this airport will serve as its first location in Mississippi. Breeze has flights scheduled to depart from GPT to both the Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas (LAS) and the Tampa International Airport in Florida (TPA).

Breeze’s core business model entails operating nonstop flights on routes with demand, but not so much demand that they appeal to major hub-focused airlines such as American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines. This route fits in perfectly with that model, and it’s why Breeze decided to launch it.

“Breeze seeks to connect cities that currently don’t have any nonstop flight options,” said Tom Doxey, president of the airline, in a statement released to announce the new routes. “Now residents of Gulfport and Biloxi will have convenient and affordable service to Las Vegas or Tampa, two of the country’s most popular destinations.”

In addition to Gulfport, Breeze is introducing a new route connecting two cities that are already part of its network.

This will take place on February 2, 2024, when the airline begins offering nonstop service between the Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) and the Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) in Ohio.

On the other hand, Breeze is expanding more than just everywhere. The airline will end its service at the Tulsa International Airport (TUL), located in Oklahoma, which Breeze has served since its inception in 2021. Currently, the airline operates flights from Tulsa to Orlando and New Orleans; however, both routes are scheduled to be terminated by the end of November.

The following is an exhaustive list of all of Breeze’s recent updates.
